In November of 1945 the world asked a simple yet pointed question with the Nuremberg trials. “where were you, and what did you do?” Where were you and what did you do on The Night of Broken Glass, when the people of Nazi Germany grouped together and without shame, attacked the Jews of Germany? Where were you and what did you do on The Night of Long Knives, when the Nazi establishment rounded up hundreds of Hitler’s opponents and executed them. Where were you and what did you do when the train cars were loaded with men, women, and children? When the camps were built? When the gas chamber doors were shut and locked? When the mass graves were dug? Or when Poland’s borders were violated by an army that had no right to be there.
The world asked this question and the world had the right to know. This page is meant to chronicle the actions of America and to draw a line in the sand. This page will highlight what America is truly meant to be and offer no excuse for any who would betray that mission. I say this as an American, someday soon the world is going to ask each and every American “Where were you and what did you do?” We best be prepared to have an answer.
